Following on from the success of the Oak Centre, Team Northern Construction were awarded the contract for a four-phase partnered refurbishment programme of St Johns Hospice, Lancaster.
Each phase had an agreed maximum price and was based on open-book accounting principles.
Works include the comprehensive adaption and refurbishment of existing wards and offices to improve aesthetics and facilities and give the users and staff a much more comfortable environment.
There was extensive design liaison and value engineering between all parties; in particular the M&E installations. The early contractor involvement approach produced significant cost savings and enabled design issues to be resolved prior to construction phases.
