The works involved the construction of new high quality facilities, specifically planned to meet the changing needs of young people with complex requirements and severe learning difficulties, those on the autistic spectrum and who may present challenges in their behaviour.  Both the residential and education accommodation were carefully designed to be as flexible as possible so as to meet the needs of young people placed here.  Both traditional and timber frame methods of construction were utilised throughout the project.

The existing farmhouse was converted to provide an additional accommodation block and a barn was dismantled and re-built to provide kitchen, dining and recreational facilities.

Furthermore, works included a library with ICT provision, large studio areas, multi sensory rooms and sensory accommodation.
